[It was mid-afternoon in Luceti and about an hour or so had passed since Jake came to and found himself not where he was supposed to be. After the initial shock, he managed to work out the journal and heard about some guide that led him to re-locate his things. Now he was taking stroll through the village. None of the technicalities of this place made sense to him, but he got the idea that he was stuck playing prisoner. That was what it all concluded to really. Nothing new to him, though this beats China's facilities any day. Was he happy? Not in the least. He was in the middle of something pretty damn important, like stopping an epidemic. Yea, he read that time would stop, but just leaving the job undone, when they were so close was pretty frustrating. Besides, he was still skeptical about a lot of things about this place.

He came to a halt in front of House 31, and gave it a look over. He walked around and locates a window. It looked like no one was staying in this house and it was surrounded by other homes that didn't have inhabitants in them either. Perfect. This particular window was facing the river and CB4. Anyone who happened by or just looked in the direction of the river would probably notice an explosion that was set off by a grenade. On closer inspection, a window had been blown off and took a chunk of the wall with it.

A few minutes after that, Jake goes on the journal.]

So how much of a beating can this place take before the magic repairman stops coming by to fix everything?

[People can probably hear the the river, as he had moved himself away from House 31.]

Also, this is to anyone who got dumped here from Earth, if the words "Neo-Umbrella", "B.S.A.A." or "C-virus" sound familiar to you, talk to me. If you don't know know what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky, I guess.

[He hears that bit of helplessness in her voice and frowns. Maybe he thought of his own past experience or their connection with Sherry that was making this difficult for him to just ignore. In a reassured tone, though the words came awkwardly to him.]

...Well if it's any consolation you mean a lot to her. I bet she knew you would had gotten her out in a heartbeat if you could.

...She told you that, huh? [ of course she did. and, of course, if sherry had trusted him enough to tell him that much then perhaps claire could trust him too. it isn't as though she has anyone else to trust.

so: ] Have you found anyone else from -- uhm -- home? Because before you, I was sure it was only me.

[Sherry did a lot of things. He could had turned his answer into some snarky remark, but Sherry's concern for other people had rubbed off on him. Still a strange place for him, but he's willing enough to support a friend of a friend. As long as they don't piss him off.]

Unless we got some shy people, it's just us so far.

Still trying to decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Neither do they from my own home world. [He thought that was just common sense.] It's made life...more interesting, I'd say. I just wish the rate was faster. You might have gotten used to all the crazy shit about this place or just accepted what that guide says, but I personally wanted to see this for myself.

I guess they don't have enough juice in those "shifts" to do that. [...Speaking of]

I read about these shifts and how they do some pretty interesting things around here too. Can't say I believe most of it.
